Colombia Floresencia

Colombia Floresencia

The cup begins with the vibrant, crisp brightness of Fuji apple, layered with the soft, floral sweetness of honey. Creamy macadamia notes add depth and richness, rounding out a smooth, balanced finish.

Floresencia is a women-focused coffee initiative led by Terra Coffee in Huila, Colombia. The project highlights coffees grown by women while promoting greater empowerment and equity within the coffee workforce. Based in the municipalities of Pitalito, San Agustín, Oporapa, and Saldoblanco, Floresencia aims to bring greater visibility and transparency to the work of women coffee producers.

The program supports clearer and more profitable market access for both coffee and complementary farm products, helping producers build a more sustainable and stable income. Terra Coffee also provides ongoing training in key areas including coffee production, quality control, process standardization, business management, and overall farm management.

Each producer cultivates between one and three hectares of land. Coffee cherries are harvested by hand and intentionally picked slightly later than usual to allow for greater ripeness and a more developed flavor profile. After harvest, the ripe cherries are pulped and fermented in small batches for 60 to 70 hours, then dried slowly over 25 to 30 days to ensure proper stabilization and quality.

We were introduced to Terra Coffee by our export partners at Mastercol during a visit to Colombia last July. We’re excited to offer this coffee as a single-origin release and look forward to featuring it soon as part of our year-round women-produced offering, the Lotus blend.
