Reforest Colombia

Reforest Colombia

Our friends at Forest Coffee have launched the Reforest Project, an initiative focused on planting 50,000 native treesacross the northern Tolima and southern Caldas regions of Colombia. The project began with the planting of the first 200 trees on the farms of 30 local coffee producers surrounding El Vergel Estate. The goal is to restore biodiversity in coffee-growing areas while creating healthier, more resilient agricultural landscapes.

By combining reforestation with sustainable farming practices, the project helps producers strengthen their farms against the growing pressures of climate change. At the same time, it supports local coffee growers as they adapt to shifting environmental conditions. Efforts like this are helping build a more sustainable future for coffee in Colombia.

The coffee itself is a washed lot grown at 1,850 MASL, featuring Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo varietals. It’s exceptionally clean and smooth in the cup, with tasting notes of plum, golden raisin, and black tea.
